JA Churui
Yurine (edible lily bulbs) grow under the ground for three years. With its straight and elegant appearance, Churui-grown yurine are of high quality. In Hokkaido, a major yurine-producing center, we are proud of this one with the highest quality. Production of yurine in Churui started during the middle 30s of the Showa era (1955-65). This place may not be ideal for growing yurine in terms of climate, but we have taken on the challenge of growing new products with high profitability. When one puts all efforts in, one can create good quality products as a result. Based on that idea, Churui-grown yurine have earned its present reputation. Pure white yurine has a soft and appetizing texture, mild sweetness and plenty of nutrients. It is rich in folic acid, which is essential for the growth of the fetus, so this vegetable is suitable for pregnant women. Most yurine are exported to the Kansai region, but you can buy it at Sai-no-Yakata Vegeta at an affordable price and you can try its elegant taste at some restaurants and Michinoeki (roadside station) in Churui.
